One thing we as women have in common is that we have a sense of noticing things men usually don’t. We will notice an odd birthmark, stretch marks, one breast that is bigger than the other, hips too wide and many other things among millions. Some of us will actually sit in the mirror and find things that are wrong with us. Through research I have found that some(adult men) don’t look for the imperfections (as we would call them). They see what makes you the beautiful queen that you are. Continue reading
Here is the thing I have against people just picking ANY workout video or regimen. Are you picking them out because a friend tried them and the results turned out great for her, you see the infomercials all the time or do you pick them based off of your body shape.
As we can all see we as women come in many different sizes. Although we all like to be the “perfect” hour glass figure we are not, so doing the same workout as a friend who is clearly built different from you will not come out with beneficial results. You should try picking exercises based on your body shape. Different body shapes gain weight in different areas. For example I have the straight body shape. (Yes, yes, I am a black woman with no curves. 😦 ) When I gain weight it goes straight to my stomach and I get the “potbelly”. Trust me it is not cute. I have a curvy friend who has a “dunk,” so with me trying to add curves to my shape would not benefit her because she is already a curvy woman. With my body shape I would focus more on adding curves by working on my core. Get those abs burning. It will pull the belly and obliques in the sides of the waist. I would also focus on increase weight training to add lean muscle mass to my butt.
I read an article called “Best Workout For Your Body Type” at womenshealthmag.com and it asks you your body type then recommends exercises based off of whichever one you choose. This is an awesome website that I think will help a lot of us get on track with what exercises actually fit the goals we are trying to achieve.
Some mothers look at stretch marks as scars, battle wounds, reminders NOT to get pregnant again, etc. I heard them all. Me personally, I don’t care what people call them. I just want mine GONE!!! Here are a few remedies on how to get rid of stretch marks.
1.) Use a moisturizer. Your skin is less likely to stretch and create stretch marks if it is hydrated. Try some over the counter lotions at your local department store. Make sure it specializes in skin moisture such as Aveeno, Olay and Cetaphil.
2.) Mederma stretch mark therapy: It delivers “visible to the naked eye” results in as little as 12 weeks. It is a cream formula that combines
- Cepalin,® a proprietary botanical extract
- Hyaluronic acid
- Centella asiatica plant extract
3.) Shea butter and cocoa butter: Massaging either of the two a few times a day will hydrate your skin and fade away stretch marks.
4.) Aloe Vera: It can be applied to the skin daily to help hydrate, heal and soothe the skin and diminish stretch marks.
5.) Sugar: Make your own exfoliating scrub by using natural sugar with a few drops of oil and lemon juice. Rub the mixture on the stretch mark area before showering each day and watch the stretch marks disappear.
